Advanced Mermaid Course

10 hours (multiple sessions)

YBD Dive Centre’s Pool & Perhentian Island Dive Sites.

Individuals aged 12 years or older.
Must have a PADI Mermaid certification (or a qualifying certification from another mermaid organization).
Must be able to swim at least 100m/320ft without swim aids and float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 minutes.
Must be in good physical health.

Learn about the differences between the open water environment and pool or confined water settings.
Be introduced to open water mermaiding techniques and considerations.
Gain knowledge about aquatic life, understanding what to expect and how to avoid harm.
Participate in knowledge development through independent study with the PADI Advanced Mermaid eLearning or instructor-led class sessions.
Engage in at least two confined water sessions to develop mermaid skills and practice rescue/problem management techniques.
Experience open water sessions in a natural local body of water, focusing on setup, conduct, and execution of open water mermaid dives.
Practice environmentally friendly mermaid diving techniques.
