I’ve been to Pulau Perhentian many times, but what usually puts me off is the long and complicated transit from KL. That’s why my experience with YBD Dive Shop was such a pleasant surprise.
They have a private jetty just 3 minutes from Kuala Besut bus station, which makes the journey incredibly convenient. The private boat ride to the island takes only about 45 minutes, and it’s very comfortable, clean, spacious, and feels like a VIP experience. They also handle your luggage with great care, which makes everything stress-free ✨
Diving with YBD was just as impressive. From the moment we arrived, everything was well-organized. The team is highly professional, especially in explaining diving basics and safety procedures. You can tell that safety is their top priority, while still making sure the overall experience is enjoyable and memorable.

My husband and I went for the 4-hr snorkeling experience through YBD in Perhentian on 26th March 2026, We went to 3 different sites and enjoyed seeing a host of varied marine life, including puffer fish, sharks and Manta ray. YBD is a highly professional dive school with top-quality equipment and a beautiful boat. The staff are very friendly and we had an amazing experience.

We completed 6 fun dives here. Our instructor, Shirley, was incredibly kind and professional. She really takes her time with everyone, keeps a close eye on all divers underwater, and goes the extra mile to find the most amazing marine life to show you.

I had my first dive after twenty year hiatus with YBD Dive Centre and highly recommend them. After a family fun dive, my daughter wanted to get certified and I was very happy for her to do so at YBD - the instructor (Josh) was very clear, thorough and safety conscious, the equipment was top notch and the groups kept small. The team photographer goes along some dives which is a nice bonus. Communication is easy, Jinn and Huda were always very quick to respond. Had an absolutely fantastic dive experience with YBD Dive Center during my recent trip! Big thanks to Huda and Jinn for arranging everything smoothly and ensuring a hassle-free dive trip.
A special mention to Yucca, instructor/dive guide, who was phenomenal—she has a sharp eye for macro marine life and kept pointing out fascinating creatures one after another. It made every dive exciting and rewarding.
Also wanted to acknowledge Shirley, who was my guide during the previous trip—just as wonderful and professional.

I completed my Rescue Diver certification and earned my Master Scuba Diver at YBD Dive Centre, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. Shout out to the team — Jin, Lynn, Tommy, Jess, and Shirley — they’re incredibly professional, friendly, patient, and truly passionate about diving.

The equipment is all very new, top-notch and carefully maintained. Beyond the training, diving with YBD is an incredible way to explore the stunning marine life and crystal-clear waters of the Perhentian Islands — an experience I’ll never forget.
