Advanced Mermaid Course

Take your mermaiding skills to new depths with the PADI Advanced Mermaid™ course, designed to elevate your mermaiding experience in open water. This comprehensive program builds upon your PADI Mermaid™ certification, refining and improving your skills while introducing you to the unique challenges of mermaiding in natural environments.

Who is this for?

  1. Individuals aged 12 years or older.
  2. Must have a PADI Mermaid certification (or a qualifying certification from another mermaid organization).
  3. Must be able to swim at least 100m/320ft without swim aids and float comfortably at the surface for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Must be in good physical health.

What will I learn?

  1. Learn about the differences between the open water environment and pool or confined water settings.
  2. Be introduced to open water mermaiding techniques and considerations.
  3. Gain knowledge about aquatic life, understanding what to expect and how to avoid harm.
  4. Participate in knowledge development through independent study with the PADI Advanced Mermaid eLearning or instructor-led class sessions.
  5. Engage in at least two confined water sessions to develop mermaid skills and practice rescue/problem management techniques.
  6. Experience open water sessions in a natural local body of water, focusing on setup, conduct, and execution of open water mermaid dives.
  7. Practice environmentally friendly mermaid diving techniques.

YBD Dive Centre & Perhentian Island Dive Sites. 

What is included?

  1. Mermaid tail (monofin), mask, snorkel, and fins.
  2. Use of mermaiding equipment including wetsuit and weight belt.
  3. Professional fees.
